Projects - learn and teach

Where have I been? That is easy to answer. I have been learning and teaching. Both of these things involve not only my work but also what I do, and both take up an inordinate amount of my time.

My latest and most favorite project? It is tough to narrow it down but I am going to go with my PA folk life traditional healing research and practice, and my attempt to bring this forward as a current healing modality.

Second to that is my work on exemplary behavior (training) for those to meet the daily challenges of working with dementia patients and family members.

As it turns out, I am still working on my PLE. I don't think it is necessary to create a visual but I do think it is useful to at least think about it. Yes, I am going to create a visual and map it all out.

This is my latest learning place.

Breathe it in. Feel it.

Learning can always be fresh and new, even when it is in one of the "oldest" or most familiar place to me.

Back to roots - literally and figuratively.

There are so many things to learn! What is your passion, and how do you learn more about things you want to know? Google? YouTube? Blogs? Text? TED? TeacherTube?

I am thinking about my PLE (personal learning environment) and it includes all of the above, and more. Whether it is an academic institution or a YouTube video, I am happy for the opportunity to learn stuff.

We all need a PLE as far as I am concerned. As an educator, I know I do for sure. Has the role of a teacher changed? Of course! I love those changes. I am mixing mine up right now. Images and model are in progress.

So, for any and all interested in getting their PLE on, read about it, think about it, and focus in to begin. In other words, you can consider starting small. Then, grow your PLE.

Have some fun and get your diagram going. A model designed by you will be the best and probably the most useful for you.

Have some fun. Give it a shot. What does your PLE look like? It is a fluid process, so expect changes.
